2004 Carter Society Reunion Group PhotoOur tour started with research at the Library of Virginia. Later our tour took us to the Executive Mansion and The Virginia State Capital. The most remembered tour was taking the Kanawaha Canal ride of Richmond. Everyone was in the boat and it started raining harder and harder. The Captain decided we needed to take cover and the nearest place was under an interstate bridge! We sat watching the rain splashing around us until the rain subsided enough that the Captain felt it was safe to try to get back to the station.
