2008 Carter Society Reunion Group PhotoThe first evening, a reception was held at the lovely home of Lloyd and Ashlin Smith. On Saturday morning, we boarded a chartered bus with K. Edward Lay as our guide. The drive up the country mountain roads were difficult with trees brushing along the sides. Cheers were offered for the bus driver. We toured Round Top and Redlands. We stopped for lunch at Michie Tavern. We were served a pioneer meal with ladies dressed in period costumes. After lunch, we toured Blenheim & Blenheim Winery. Dinner was served on the covered pation at Ivy Inn. A tour of the University of Virginia was our treat the following day!
